I remember the day. I remember the time, the weather, hell I remember the length the grass was. It was medium length. It had gotten cut a solid week and a half ago but nature here in Alabama sure does take its force fast. Mama was out on the deck layin’ the cookies ‘n milk on the table hollerin’ at us to stop playin’ ball so we could get our hides on the smooth maple chairs and eat her damn cookies. Damn woman could holler ‘till she tore her voice box and still she’d keep tryin’ to go at it only managing a couple squeals. That woman is past crazy. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. It was a brutal August scorcher, the weather having topped 100 degrees at some points in the day. But still, me and my buddy Jim were throwin’ that ball. Back and forth and back and forth like it was our goddamn ritual. It was basically ‘cause we’d be out there throwin’ that damn ball through the late hours of the night. Just throwin that damn white little sphere around. I like it ‘cause its always the same and easy to remember. Look at your target but don’t squint like its your first time firin’ a rifle you’ll look like a damn fool! Step your front foot up reel back that ‘ol cannon ‘o fire and snap it forward like you were slapping the air then just release. Then have your buddy throw it back and repeat. Step. Aim. Throw.

 

Jimmy boy threw it back to me but with too much ark. It sailed into the street. “No worries!” I yelled. I chased after the rolling baseball that was drastically slowing down due to friction. I picked up the ball that stopped right by a pointy desolate pinecomb and picked it up. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a black sidan slowly creeping towards me. “Must be some lost tourist.” I thought. I carried on walking back to my house where Scott was probably anxiously waiting for me. With every five steps I took the car would follow that in feet. “Could this nutso be followin’ me?” 

Hey today i am going to bring up the big L word. Not love. Life. I questioned the meaning of life today when I went fishing. I caught a big tuna fish in the ocean and reeled him up which took a good five minutes. The fishing line went out real far. After a great amount of huffing and puffing he appeared above the surface and a man helped me get the fish in the boat. Hook in tooth, the fish flopped on the wood floor of the boat spraying a liberal amount of blood on the boat and even on me. I lifted it by its tail to get a picture with it and looked at it gasping for air. I thought how sucky it is to be a fish and have your life end just to be lunch by some hungry tourists. Humans are very intelligent and when acting so, they normally are the predator not the prey. Basically it sucks to be a fish and its great to be a human. But why does a fish have to be a fish and a man have to be a man? What did I do to deserve such right to not be prey to dangling deceitful hooks with bait attached? For what reason am I the human and the fish the fish? Could it be that we are all just wondering souls that take new forms after we die? Maybe this fish was once a man who did bad things, died, and got reincarnated into a fish because fish are in danger of suffering far more than many creatures on this Earth. Maybe I am a man because in my past life I was a dog who provided comfort for a lonely old lady. This, to me, is the only logical theory of why a fish is a fish and a man is a man. Am I a firm believer in science? Sure. But the idea of reincarnation makes great sense and puts this into perspective. 

Yes its true the Yankees have acquired Pirates OF Eric Hinske sporting a .255 avg and 31 years of age. He will add some extra juice neccessary in the road game struggling bombers and will for the time being replace Xavier Nady who is overcoming an injury. Hinske's first game is today against the Yankees. GO YANKEES! 

Yankees have been on fire. They sweeped the Mets in a Subway cross town battle for New York. Everyone played well including Swisher who blasted a homerun. Mariano Rivera picked up his 500th save 

Underdog USA battles the intimidating Brazil in fifa soccer in the finals of the Confederation cup. Now in the second half USA is winning 2-1. For USA, Clint Dempsey and Landin Donovan scored the 2 U.S goals while Luis Fabiano scored the one goal for Brazil. Let's hope our boys can hang on! GO USA!

Many exciting videogames are coming, one being God of War 3. The first God of War game for the Ps2 had great succes followed by the sequel God of War 2, then God of War: Chains of Olympus made its way to the PSP and now Kratos will be making his way into your Hi def TV this March in 2010. Definitely going to be worth the wait.

A more recent game, The Bigs 2, is releasing this July. Just think slugfest but more synchronized and cooler and faster game play. New features include more body slams like when you'd meet the catcher on a close play sliding into home, new game modes, and of course the favorite, Home Run Pinball will be back

And if you are into shooters Activision is making Modern Warfare 2 which is a sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare which was deemed best online shooter of the year in '07. An intense campaign will be available with new weapons which look really cool as well as the successful multiplayer including new guns, new maps, new outfits, new unlockable clan tags, and personal game lobbies... more to come on that.

Lastly my favorite, Valve, is releasing a sequel to the fan favorite zombie survival co op driven game Left for Dead 2. Features new weapons including melee weapons like a frying pan. Features 5 campaigns each with its own unique infected zombie. New types of zombies will be introduced as well as a new game mode along with survival mode, campaign co op mode, and survivors vs infected.
